Finally a newsletter, I've been lazy this summer and ain't been newsletterin' real good. So here's the highlights on the last couple of meetings of the Whitewater Clan.
Beginning next year, 2009, modern camping will not be allowed inside the fence at the range.
Camp Fee will be goin' up in 2009 as well. It won't be much and the details are being worked on and will go in effect at the May event next year.
Remember we are a pre-1840 black powder 'shooting' club. We make our money for prizes off the shooting events in May and October each year. I am among those that prefer to socialize rather than shoot too. There was a time that was not the case but that's another story. Anyway, we need to support our shooting events. We don't really try to make money off them but we like to at least break even. That has not been the case the last two events. So lets all do better and try to toe the line for at least one or two events.
The Elders Match will be held this October for sure so get up a five person team and get ready!!
( Editors note ....Our team is ready to kick their butt's.....Again !! )
I'm not sure yet what other shooting events will be going on.
Don't forget we are doin' and raffle for a fine flint gun and accoutrements at the 30th anniversary in October..so buy and sell tickets with the 'gusto of a thousand hound dogs'!!!
Red Stick for the Fall shoot is Hayward Legg and the Blue Sticks are Rick and John.
We'll be cookin' a whole hog and a pot of chicken and rice for the 30th event and everybody else can contribute as we normally do for the Saturday supper meal.
This coming weekend is the meeting weekend. On Saturday we need all that can come to be at the range to help pour a slab for a sink at the cook shack.
The Bear Shoot will be held in February again in 2009.
Shiloh Bradley sends a big 'Thank You' to everyone in Whitewater for their generosity and condolences following the death of her husband David. It was a shock to us all and he'll be missed for sure.
